We have spent some wonderful weekends in the Eastern Free State being delighted with the magnificent show of cosmos in the early months of the year.
David and I visited the Kruger Park in April. We chose the northern camps and had some amazing elephant experiences with a few fleeting predator dashes as well. Our family joined us and we were fortunate that our granddaughters joined us on every game drive which was a treat. Having elephants flap ears and trumpet was an exciting event as were the very large orb spider webs our vehicle had to deal with.
As ever, watching the Olipfants river flow in front of our bungalows after a long day's drive offered great family time and good relaxation especially as the man in our daughter's life did most of the braaing for us.
We look forward to more weekends in the Eastern Free State where we will capture the stark winter scenery in landscapes filled with mist and (hopefully) snow.
For various reasons we are postponing our 10th tour to the Masai Mara until 2015. The dates proposed are 22 - 30 August and we are negotiating price and accommodation to ensure that our guests will be well cared for and have the best nature experience possible when we visit Kenya in 2015.
Our trip to Namaqualand in August will be a treat we haven't had for years and we look forward to flowers, more landscapes, the silence of the Tankwa Karoo and cold starry nights in Sutherland.
Wishing you good shooting light.
