David and I have just returned from another wonderful meander through the nothern Cape, from Kimberley to Paternoster, Sutherland and back to Johannesburg,
We visited Makola Wildlife reserve near Kimberley which was interesting as Roan was the most prevelant antelope. Augrabies was as splendid as ever and the flowers in parts of Namaqualand were exceptional. The ocean at Paternoster was wild and beautiful and we were able to capture sea birds and seascapes.
We began our return journey at the Tankwa Karoo reserve which is vast and offered wide, open sky landscapes, deep silences and simple living in straw and mud cottages withonly paraffin lamps for lighting.
We moved onto Sutherland where we viewed the SALT telescope and marvelled at the vastness and mystery of the night sky.
South Africa is a wonderful country which offers great food, good prices and friendly people. We are already planning our 2015 travels.
The images below are mine as David is still working on his. We will let you know when they are added to the gallery.
